Before Napa was lined with wineries as far as the eye can see, the land was run by packs of Grey wolves. With the influx of farmers, the wolves either were killed or chased north into Oregon.
In 2014, when the three founders got together and decided to start a label, the first pack of Grey wolves were spotted in Napa. We named this first wine in honor of them.
This opulent Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend sparkles in the glass with a bright, ruby hue. Heady aromas of ripe red and black cherry-berry fruit and toasty cocoa fill the nose, hinting at the promising flavors to follow. On the palate, this beauty makes good on its promise thanks to the mouthful of black, red and even blueberry fruit tinged with creme de cassis.
The medium-to-full bodied crowd pleaser is nearly framed on the finish by toasty, vanilla-kissed oak with beautiful balanced tannins and addity sealing the deal. Enjoyable now and over the next 7-8 years by itself or as an engaging companion to grilled Prime-grade steaks and savory, hard cheeses.
